- Apr 09, 2008 - Page error fixed
I somehow fixed the page error. I noticed that the .htaccess file went missing. Plus, this main page didn't have the page includes I used to have to make the menus work. I probably messed it up when I did an update from work where I saved the source of this page and did my post. I forgot that saving the source would save everything, including the page includes and show up as one html file, which I then uploaded back to the site. haha me.
- Apr 04, 2008 - x24 rig 2.0 specs
I forgot to post the specs until now. I was planning on giving the system a little breaking in time first before I post. I didn't want to jinx it.
New stuff:
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2 65W...
Mobo - MSI K9A2 CF-F AM2+/AM2 AMD 760X. For some reason I became a bit MSI loyal, ever since Visiontek went ATI. The AMD site lists this as one of those that (will/should/it better) support Phenoms. I gotta be upgrade friendly.
RAM - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066
Videocard - MSI N9600GT 512M OC (GeForce 9600GT)
PSU - Rosewill RE501-BLK 500W. I made sure it had a -5v rail for the future Phenom that's gonna sit on the new mobo.
This all in all went below my $500 budget. I actually didn't know that Newegg didn't charge me any sales tax. I could've gotten better parts to reach the $500 mark. I think I had like $30 left.
Existing stuff:
Soundcard - Creative Audigy Gamer. I got this thing from MaverikV from the Gideontech Forums.
Case - Lian-Li PC-60USB. Why get a new case?
HDD - my old Samsung drives. I might get a bigger SATA drive. With the Mobo having only one IDE port, SATA is my next bet at expansion storage.
Well there you go. I haven't really tested this system to see how well it does. CS:Source seem to run pretty well with everything set to High. NFS: ProStreet runs decently, although I had to lower some settings to play at a higher resolution. I'm very satisfied for now, since I don't really plan on playing a lot of the current games. Maybe GTA IV, if they come up with a PC version.
- Mar 11, 2008 - Page error!
Hmm. Seems like all the pages are missing the side bars except for this main page. Need to fix... sooner of later.
- Mar 11, 2008 - x24 rig 2.0 (alpha?)
Looks like the resurrection of the x24 rig has officially started. After a few weeks thinking about building a semi new machine (I already have some good parts), and a little help from my tax refund, I finally bought new parts to rebuild and finally upgrade my PC. The parts arrived today but I didn't have enough time to fool around with them, aside from checking if everything arrived completely, correctly and no apparent defects.
It's basically going to be an AMD based dual-core system (with support for a quad of course) with a PCI-e video card at last. I went with an nVidia 9600GT card since they cost an average of $200 at the moment. Very cheap for a rather new card that, based from reviews here and there, perform quite decently for it's price. I'm not really planning on doing a lot of gaming, as I haven't really been interested in a lot of the current games. Since my PC died I kinda switched over to console gaming. Unless NFS would still look and play better on a PC than on the PS3. Plus, the most work it's gonna be doing is probably some video editing. Anyway, specs will follow as soon as I start putting everything together and be able to at least POST.
I don't think I'll be doing anymore modding. I guess I'm just an educated user now. Maybe some tinkering here and there to play around with the cooling, but I guess no more fancy fan controllers this time. I threw out my temp-controlled fan thingy when I was dismantling my poor dead PC. I had to let go of the past :(.
- Dec 17, 2007 - My PC died :(
Yes, the x24 rig has died. It's been dying for weeks now and today I finally admitted it's gone. I'm on a salvaged laptop right now, until I probably build a new one.
At first I thought the OS was just being quirky. It restarts itself randomly. I would sometimes catch a BSOD when it restarts. After reinstalling XP, the problem was still there. So I went in to check for loose cables and whatnot and saw my videocard's fan dangling! I thought maybe the video card overheats and restarts the machine. I bought a used 6600GT just to get the cooler. It still restarts. So I guess my very hopeful quick fix wasn't good enough. I can't really narrow the problem down since I'm short of replacement parts. It's not really worth salvaging a 6-year old rig, eventhough I'm a bit saddened that it finally died.
Oh well. I may probably settle for a laptop, but I really wanted a desktop PC in case I want to play games again, or maybe try out the newer games (newer as in games that came out after Unreal 2k4). I'm guessing a $500 budget isn't bad, since all I need now is a new mobo, proc, memory, gpu and maybe a PSU.
I guess this officially marks my retirement from PC modding. I'll keep this site up in case people are still looking at my projects from years past. I realize that I don't have any dates on these articles, but they mostly span 2002-2006-ish. The article lists on the left side bar are chronologically correct though.
So guys, here we are. It's been fun tinkering with stuff for our PC cases. I guess I'm too old or too busy to play anymore. Hopefully with this site being up, it would become a flashback to the good old modding days, when mod projects mattered, not just for looks. See you around! ... I'll still be answering e-mails, in case you have any questions :D.
- Jul 12, 2007 - Nothing new, Some things new
Still nothing new for the site. Although my wife and baby are finally here in the states and everything got more busy after that. We now live in a new apartment and have recently furnished it. From the looks of it, our apartment looked like an IKEA room sample. Except for the sofas, which were bought somewhere else.
My main (and only) rig though, I'm amazed that it's still up and running. It's like a 50 year old single guy working the ladies at the local pool. I'm thinking about building a new system, but that's gonna be bumped back until I get moneys. haha.
- JAN 14, 2007 - Happy New Year and I am back
From vacation at least. No new content still, as I've been rather busy at work and immigration stuff concerning my wife and kid (they might be here sooner than I expected). I got to spend a month with my family back in the Philippines for Christmas again, but this time, I get to spend it with my new daughter.
After coming back I got to read some tech news again and saw some rather interesting projects concerning laser pointers, webcams and some rocket launchers. Here's a link to one. I've been interested in software controlled hardware but I haven't really started on anything, nor gone through with one far enough to be anything worth seeing. Maybe if I do make a project I could add more content here :).
- SEPT 22, 2006 - Gabrielle is born today!
Wow, long break. Anyway, My wife gave birth to our first baby. We named her Gabrielle. Both are fine luckily, normal delivery and everthing's normal so far. I'm currently waiting for the pictures to be sent so I can see how she looks like. It's really hard to be oceans away from everything. I felt very useless as a father and a husband, especially the whole day yesterday when she was in labor. All I could do was wait for a phonecall, as the nurses took her cellphone away from her.
Back to the long break. Sorry if I haven't really updated the site, as there wasn't that much updates that have happened. No new smileys, no new Trials stuff, no new mods. My PC is currently on that rest stage where I'm not really into upgrading anymore. I'm less and less into gaming, partly due I guess to my system's old specs. No new games tickle my interests anymore. I guess it's just I'm growing old? I do play some PS2 games for a bit.
No new projects either. I'm on hiatus for anything else since my wife was closer and closer to giving birth. Maybe next year, after my trip to see my family.
- APR 1, 2006 - It's not Comcastic
Free at last. I can say today starts my new life with Verizon DSL. No more Comcast for me. I have just installed the DSL modem last night, and reconfigured my home network with it. As I was installing, my Comcast connection was down. The dead lights on my cable modem kinda helped me install DSL quite fast. By monday, I'll be cancelling my Comcast HSI account and my Vonage account. Too bad about Vonage. It worked quite well and saved me a lot of money compared to my old phone bill. But what can I do with a crappy internet connection. That's a notch agains Comcast that Vonage lost a satisfied customer. DSL requires a landline, so I had to get one just to get a new ISP. So Vonage is out of the question now. I need the phone line ready all the time, in case of emergencies. And I can't depend on a crappy internet connection just for that.
I just hope I don't get problems with DSL. But then again, even if I lose my internet, the landline still works.
Oh and happy April Fools. I don't have any April Fool's surprises, since somehow my life feels like the receiving end of one recently.
Remember folks. As I won't be with Comcast for long, please remember not to send e-mails to my x24 at comcast dot net address. E-mail me now at x24 at x24garcia dot com.
- MAR 25, 2006 - A bit of a layout change
No big change, other than that right panel. I've decided to put the links there and added some to the list. I guess I just can't keep a simple format website without making look like a blog. In the end it still did. I guess it's not really a blog if it's not updated often :).
I have started the (very long) decision process of trying to upgrade my PC. Mostly the decision lies on actually buying the parts. I have set my eyes on the ASRock 939Dual board, which features both an AGP and a PCI-E 16x slot. I still have my 6600GT and I don't feel like replacing it yet, not until the 7800 series cards go down $250 or further i guess. The board, like how the name suggests, is a socket 939 board, and supports Opterons, X2's and eventually M2 processors. I was at the computer show today in hopes of buying the mobo and CPU to start the upgrade. Luckily, I saw a booth that had the 939Dual, but only had two in stock. They also had an Opteron 144. The guy was gonna give me a great deal to get both. I told him I'd think about it. After going around the show floor I went back, and saw that a person was looking at the 939Dual boards. I asked the guy if someone's buying it. He said he was about to. Thinking there's another one anyway, I told him I'll do a walk-around one more time to help me decide. After maybe like 3-5 minutes, I came back. They're gone! Even the cheaply priced, retail boxed Opteron 144. I don't know. I wasn't really thinking that it was a good idea buying it, but when I was on my way back, I was gonna buy it. Now I feel kinda sad.
I checked back on Newegg and made a little wishlist to see how much my potential upgrade would be. Based on what I have right now, I would need to buy a new PSU, RAM and maybe an OEM copy of WinXP PRO. Those kept me within my $500 budget, but depending on the kind and/or brand of RAM I'm picking up, it'll go past $500. Maybe missing out on that deal from the computer show wasn't a bad thing after all. I guess I'll just try to save up for it, since it'll be a bit of a cost anyway.
- MAR 18, 2006 - Trials Mountain
There's a new Trials game out called Trials Mountain Heights. It still has the same bikes from Trials PRO and Trials Construction Yard but there is considerably more tracks than all Trials Games. The differences with this new version are mainly on the tracks, as you get to choose what track you want to run. When you finish that track, you go back to the track selection screen. So basically, Trials Mountain Heights is just about getting the best score for each track, not like on previous versions, where you have to go through all 6 tracks and get a final score. The tracks are divided into Easy, Medium and Hard tracks, with 4 tracks each. It's very challenging, even the easy tracks. If you are going to run the more difficult tracks, I would suggest learning how to jump from a stationary position (See Tip #4 from my Ride Guide).
check out the demo here: miniclip.com - Trials Mountain Heights
One more new thing about this game is the OpenGL mode. It doesn't work on my PC though so I don't know what's it about. Maybe the track and the bikes are 3D rendered or something. Plus the bike sounds are borked. Not sure why.
- MAR 18, 2006 - Moved, settled in and good to go...
Finally, after a few months of idling, I have completed moving the site to my own domain, hosted by GideonX's baby, SCHostPro. I've had this since last year, and I've just moved everything here. I've actually tried to finish this months ago, but I just got lazy trying to redesign the site to use CSS like normal people, and since I've been adding pages as I go along, updating ALL pages became really tedious. Here's where CSS and SSI come in. Anyway, it's pretty much the same layout, only with a few tweaks here and there.
Like I said, I got my hosting from SCHostPro. Check it out. Ed gets crazy every now and then and would give amazing hosting deals.
- OCT 10, 2005 - I SUCK.
So um, i lost the entries from after Sept 24, 2004 onwards, because I overwrote the index page with the wrong code. I forgot to make a backup of the current page so it's all gone. I got the entries from Waybackmachine and it only got up til September of 2004. Oh well. I think the last entry I have posted was about me being a news writer for www.gideontech.com. So yeah, I haven't been into anything much as far as modding, making smilies or making Trials tracks. I have started posting news articles on GT's main site. I've also recently written a review on the mobiBLU DAH-1500i so check that one out there as well. I guess I'll just have to check back on the Waybackmachine to see if it updates it's archives and I can get the posts back.
Oh and I've started using Opera at work since my work PC's harddrive got replaced and I can't install Java to be able to use a browser IRC client that uses Java. Opera had a built-in IRC client so that worked. Opera doesn't display this site well though. I had to make some changes to the fonts and stuff, which resulted to me losing this Main page :(. I've only started fixing the main page. The rest should follow.
- ** LOST POSTS **
...
- SEPT 24, 2004 - **POKE POKE**.
Hello. Just to let you know I'm still alive. Just nothing to post (eventhough I still have some pending stuff). Anyway, I still haven't done anything yet. No new smilies, no new tracks, nothing. I'm still trying to recover, financially, from the wedding spendings. It might take a while.
Oh yeah, and I was able to do something. I built myself an arcade controller. check it out here [click me].
- MAY 30, 2004 - I GOT HITCHED AND I AM BACK.
Yes, I am now a married man and I'm back from a month-long vacation. I have been very busy at work and wedding preparations and that vacation was really worth all it's efforts. I do have pictures from the affair, but I'm not posting a link to them here. I just want to keep this site as "work" related as possible. Anyway, no more preparations, no more worries, no more deadlines. Does that mean I now have time for mods, software, smilies and Trials tracks? Maybe, hopefully. Funds are at a lifetime low, and I now have a prospective family to raise. But then again, software and graphics are free to create, and I already have most of the parts for my mod plans. Sooo, I have no excuse now don't I.
I've noticed that this page is becoming rather long, so I'll start making a news archive page.
Oh yeah, a big BIG thanks to Mr. Ed "GideonX" Chen for having an "x24's marriage gift" fundraiser at the Gideontech Forums. GTF members were able to pool as much money to get lil ol' me a nice Canon Powershot A75, carrying case, batteries and charger, and a hefty memory card. I still can't believe that people think I am worth their spare change. Again, thanks so much! Now I can put up some decent pictures, at last.
- FEB. 15, 2004 - HAPPY HAPPY!!! A WHOLE YEAR, AND STILL GOING!!!
It's exactly a year after the website first became public. Starting off as an HTML experiment, it has grown to what you're seeing right now. I'm rather surprised that I've accumulated quite a nice number of readers (not just those people from the Gideontech Forums) from all around the world. This simple website has become my HTML workshop, my works, art, and hobbies outlet. It has gone through site design changes, applying techniques I've learned in the process, like Frames and Tables, implementing trackers and counters, additional content and such. I'm glad that this didn't end up like a one-time website effort that would just die after a few months with the eternal "Under Construction" sign. In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't put up an under construction sign. I guess that's a jinx of some sort. Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who had helped, guided, and contributed to everything that you see here in the past year. Hopefully more things will come this year, and eventually, get me my own ".com". Things are getting cramped in this free Comcast webspace so I really need to consider getting some hosting.
Ok, so, as promised, I'm releasing my Trials game "competition tracks" to celebrate the 1st burpday. Just head on to the Tracks and tutorial page and download the set. Don't forget a video recording software like SnagIt! if you want to share your awesome feats. Enjoy :)
- Feb. 10, 2004 -
Wow I just noticed. My website's almost a year old now. How time flies.
Thinking that I should be doing something special for the X24 website's 1st birthday, I guess I can release my Trials competition tracks on the day itself. Looking down this page's date entries, the first was made in Feb. 15, 2003. So on this coming Sunday, my Trials competition tracks will be open to the public. So if you're eagerly waiting for them, in just about 4 days or so, they'll be available. In the meantime, I'll think of more things to do for the birthday, and also, try out the new custom tracks by Trials fans for Trials fans. Enjoy.
- Feb. 06, 2004 -
I've received a lot of e-mails lately regarding where you can download the Trials games. Since www.redlynx.com's website is down, you can go to www.miniclip.com to try out the demos. You can get the full version purchase pages there also (I wonder why redlynx didn't have one on their site). Here are the links:
- Trials basic
- Trials PRO
Anyway, head on over to the tracks page and get some new tracks. Enjoy.
- Jan. 29, 2004 -
First post in 2004!! Happy new year anyway.
To people waiting for smileys, sorry for the bigtime delay. I've been so busy with other things that I've had a hard time setting some sit-down time with my other projects, mainly the smileys. But eventhough I'm busy, I get bored too. So I play Trials again. Just fooling around with the game got me thinking of making tracks again. But this time, it's gonna be something to measure Trials skills. I was trying to do a quadruple flip. So why not make a track just for trick jumps and such. So I did some measuring and planning and I came up with some practice tracks which doubles as a competition base for Trials trick riding. I've already come up with two sets, and will be making them public once i finish the third set. So watch out for them and we'll have a little trick riding fun. My plan is, we can all share our Trials trick riding skill. Screenshots won't be enough to show the feats since a snapshot won't prove them. So a video demo would be nice. You can use a desktop video capture program such as Snag-it. It's the program that we've used to create the demo runs you see in the Ride Guide and BalefireX' 0-score run demo.
For the meantime, check out snow_veil's nice trackset. Pick them up here.
- Nov. 03, 2003 -
Alrighty. It's been a month since my last update. Not much really has happened, just a change of interests again (from modding to smileys to Trials) but I've started having time to mod again. After looking at my case for a long time, I guess it's time for a new look. Partly because my burner died and I got a new burner, which is in stock beige. That kinda broke the silver look of my drives. So I thought maybe I should go black, to complement the black grills on the front. After some shipping waiting time and paypal funds later, here's what I have now (get ready for some high quality crappy pics):

For you poor-eyed folks (hahaha), what you're seeing are some black Lian-li drive bay plates, a Lian-li C-01B, and a F-01B. I didn't want to paint my new burner so I just opted to cover it. The next step will be migrating my bay display on a black bezel, maybe do a little redesigning to fit a lighted switch to replace the slide switches or something. Also, I'm gonna paint the power and reset switch outlines, which are just plastic shrouds that hold the buttons in place. I'm gonna keep the actual buttons silver just to get that black outline. Also, I'm gonna replace the red LED bargraphs with green ones and cover it with a blue filter to at least make it as close to blue as possible. It would probably look blue-green, but I guess that's fine since the vis display on the NewQ goes from blue to blue-green.
- Sep. 30, 2003 -
I've got a new Trials page in addition to my current one. I just rounded up some riding tips and other fun stuff. I just posted my first demo run on video. Check it out here.
- Sep. 21, 2003 -
Power at last! Since hurricane Isabel, we've had a power outage for two days. I'm back online so I'm alive and kicking, again.
Great news for Trial bike fans. Trials PRO is out. I just tried the online full demo, and talk about difficult. And I thought my custom tracks are hard. No seriously. Even the online demo is so freakishly hard. I can't even do the first two jumps. It's embarassing, I know. Makes me wanna play it more.
stories aside, try the online demo from here or purchase the game straight from here here.
**UPDATE**
Just a warning. IT'S SO DAMN #$!@#%#*$(%&!@#$^!@#&$^!@#$!@#$ HAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRD!!! damn you snowman. damn you to hell.
- Sep. 06, 2003 -
I've added a new page dedicated to Trials. Check out some custom tracks and how to make them here.
- Sep. 04, 2003 -
Ok, it's really been a long while. Sorry for my smiley fans that i haven't really been making smileys. I still have you on the list that I keep so that makes sure that I still have to make them, as promised. But anyway, I have been really busy these past few weeks, due to people going on vacation and a recent unfortunate episode of lay-offs. And thanks to some people (you know who you are) I got addicted to a little game called Trials (as seen here).
I have discovered (discovered is a nicer term than "hacked") that you can change the track graphics a bit and make your own tracks. We've successfully created fully working tracks and stuff so I might come up with a tutorial page for creating Trials tracks for those interested. I now have a polished track that is quite difficult so I'll probably post that first.
And I've recently discovered that Comcast now offer some website features such as counters, which is what i'm experimenting now. I've tried trackers before but it didn't seem to work right. Hopefully Comcast's native counter would work. I've implemented the counter on this index page first, so if it's not a bother for you, if you notice that it's not counting, shoot me an e-mail. Thanks in advance.
- Jul. 13, 2003 -
Ah, it's been a while. But i managed to do two personalized smileys this weekend. I guess i got bored so I just tried to make up with the really long backlog of smiley requests. Anyway, I hope to finish more.
Also, I've created a program to go along Skylined's 7-segment display circuit, which is called the SXDisplay. It's a simple 3-digit 7-segment display connected to the PC's parallel port. The software utilizes MBM version 5.2 and below and displays either CPU/Ambient temperatures or CPU usage. This is great for people who wants to see real time system temperatures or CPU usage when they don't have the typical LCD/VFD setup. Click here for the complete article/guide and files are found over at Gideontech.com.
- Jun. 07, 2003 -
Two new public smileys up. I've somehow gotten back to making smileys, so, i guess i can get back into finishing all the smiley requests. Sorry for the delays and stuff. Laziness is hard to fight.
This just in:
As of June 7, 2003, the LEDcalc has been downloaded 681 times from Gideontech.com!. Wow. That many in just, what, two days? Thanks to Gideontech.com for the exposure! weeeee!
- Jun. 06, 2003 -
GideonX from Gideontech.com said the LEDcalc was neat. Sooooo, he featured it as an article and even hosted the file! Just in case you get a hard time downloading the program from here, you can get it from Gideontech.com.
- May 05, 2003 -
Again, sorry if i haven't had any smileys done. I've been busy with other things. Hopefully this coming weekend will be a smiley making weekend. It's not that i'm lazy or what, i'm just busy doing other things.
So for now, here's a little GT IRC snippet

New program up, yet again. The The Temperature Converter. Need to convert temperature values quickly? Then look no further. Ok I'll stop now.
... and no, this is not the special program i talked about previously.
- Apr. 13, 2003 -
New program up again. The The Parallel port LED tester. Good for your parallel port interfacing projects.
Watch out for a special program soon :) (that is if it get's done soon. hehe)
Added and updated some smileys, finally. Don't worry people, I haven't forgotten your requests yet. Just busy that's all.
- Apr. 06, 2003 -
New program up. The MP3 Random Distributor. It's from BalefireX' need for a randomizer. Here's the link to the thread:

Alrighty. To my smiley requesters, I'm very sorry for not coming up with your smileys as promised. I have only come up with one within this past week since I got pretty busy trying to figure out an easy way of updating my site (and people forcing me to play CS :D). Since I moved to using tables, It's kinda hard managing it, part of the reason is that if I change something in my base format (title bar, menu bar etc), I would then have to make the same updates to all pages. Some people have suggested using Macromedia Dreamweaver specifically for it's templates feature. I've tried it and somehow i can't utilize it fully yet. I still have much reading to do if I'm to use it. Right now, I'm trying to write my own program just for my website updates. If I'm gonna push through with this program of mine, it would take time, again, and eat my smiley making time. So now, I'll just settle with a base template and do my updates manually using a text editor, just so I can have time making the smileys. I just finished Ronin's smiley so that somehow brought me into the smiley making mood again. Naruto 23 and 24 is out and it would take time to download. Soooo, while waiting for it, I can't play CS, which means i can do smileys (hehe, escape!).
Anyway, go back to the smiley page and continue watching my smileys.
- Mar. 16, 2003 -
Yay! Tables!
...that's all.
**UPDATE**
Again, yay for tables.
I just got me an XP 2100+ thoroughbred processor. It's true, XP processors get better, and i mean WAY better temps than thunderbirds. My old t-bird averages around 52C. Now my temps are just 40C on average. Talk about a big decrease huh? huh? huh? poke poke. I also got me a some 3D glasses. yes, some. i got two. well, it was one, but the guy slipped in another. wahey! oh well, i'm still kinda dizzy from too much 3D.
- Mar. 15, 2003 -
How time flies. it's already 1am so it's officially March 15 an hour ago. Anyway, I got the smiley tutorial up. Hope you understand it.
X24 Smiley Tutorial
- Mar. 14, 2003 -
Ok. I think i would go back to making smileys on monday. Seems like since i took a break, i got a lot of requests, so please be patient with me. Like before, i can only do one smiley a day since I can only do them after work and it takes me around 3-4 hours to make them depending on the difficulty or complexity of the animation (which is usually my fault because i tend to overdo the animation). Anyway, i keep track of my "to do" list so i'll let you guys know about your requests. I also want to start making public smileys again since i haven't added anything to them since the nyehehe smiley.
Anyway, since you're here, go over to the Gideontech.com Counterstrike server. if you see me there, i assure you, your stats will go sky high. I mean it. I help people get good stats. Am I nice or what. I make smileys for free and help you build up your CS stats. I should start charging for my services soon. oh well. here's a link to more info about the GT CS server:

I just added Marsupial's smiley to the list of done smileys. I still have some left to do, but I guess I'll take a break for a couple of days. making them smileys kinda drained my wit and humor a bit, plus my damn stiff neck came back. very annoying. Anyway, I'll probably just start writing my own smiley making tutorial for those interested to see how I make these things. Again, you might have your own preferred graphics editing programs, and GIF creation is just as easy as doing a save as on such editors, but I have my own methods and i think you would agree that it is rather easier to do. So anyway, like other people, just waste your time and watch the smileys.
Oh and here's a direct link to the 313 cam... smiley version.

Added more personalized smileys for my friends. You like? I like. I myself can't stop watching them. Anyway, are you interested on how the hell I do these things? If there's enough interest, I will write up a simple walkthrough. They are just simple animated GIFs, but I have my own method of making them. So if the demand for a tutorial is great, I'll whip up one for you. Enjoy! Now stop reading and continue watching the smileys.

Personalized smileys added. I have a list of smileys to do so new public/general smileys would have to wait.

I just made me my first smiley. Well, it's actually two smileys in one pic. It's gonna be the first of many. I've been playing around with Adobe Image Ready. You gotta love layers. I'm used to make my animated GIFs using Flash since I can import my numbered filename frame graphics and make a quick movie out of it, then export it in GIF format. But it seems that Flash can't do very small graphics sizes such as 32px x 32px. Anyway, hopefully this first one would be a good one.
It's ok if you save it for your own use. Just etch it in your mind that I made it, all original, done entirely from scratch.
Hah. added another one before the day ends. enjoy:)

Updated the Radioshack temp mod page. I found a pic showing the CPU probe, which I wasn't able to provide in the Gideontech.com article. Just head over there to see it :).
I want to put up a pic of my new 92mm fan on my HS (thanks to Clearcaseman's acrylic adapter) but I don't have a decent digital camera. I might try out the crappy webcam, just for the sake of getting a picture. That reminds me, I can't make an AFK comic without a digital camera. bad timings suck.

Ahh, the moondays. gotta love it.
I just updated my bay fan controller/display article. I have found my progress pics. You can now see the insides, just in case you were curious. I have also successfully installed my 92mm fan and adapter on my heatsink. I ended up using zip ties. Yeah yeah, quit it already. It's now quieter and a bit cooler than before. Hey, eventhough I only got around 3-4 degrees C lower, it got more quiet. I still want to put 20 LEDs on the acrylic fan adapter though, but that would mean I would have to take off the zip ties. Grr. I knew it! I really need those easy install pins, or whatever they are called. Like what Tim Meadows said on that shirt in a can commercial, DAMNIT!

I just completed all the mod articles pages, and added a page for my LED calc. Want it? Download it. Let me know about bugs and stuff. Learned more about CSS (see the scrollbar woohoo!).

It snowed again, our streets haven't been plowed yet, so I'm stuck at home. So what to do? Write more content. I have finished writing all but one of my current mod projects. More content for the people. when I can't write anymore, I'll do the website graphics next. I added some links too. Oh, I mentioned a dancing AFK in my title. here it is:
Customized my colors. weeeeeee. thanks snow_veil!
Last minute additions. WATERMARKING WEEEEEE!!!

Added my first website content. The bay project. People hated my frames. I should use tables. Well, I'm having fun making my site, and frames look so advance in my current knowledge of HTML. But I'll look into tables soon. It's just that I wanted to keep the site from scrolling, keeping the menus visible at all times, hence the frames. But i guess, with a little more reading, I can do that with tables. But for now, the frames stay.

I got the site up. Just experimented making a site using HTML. I read this tutorial I found in the web. Site written in Notepad woohoo.
